Can Exit criteria be used as defect density?

Can we use defect density as exit criteria along with other exit criteria?

Re: Can Exit criteria be used as defect density?

You can use whatever is agreeable to your customer and your organization for any exit or entrance criteria.

If you have any applicable standards, then those must be met. If you have contractual limits, then you must comply etc.

IF talking software as somethin ultimately executable...
While defect density is a good metric, it can be but is not really geared for exit criteria. It is more useful as a guide to indicate complex code or insufficient skillsets - among many other things.

IF talking document inspections...
Then defect density per document page makes sense as phase exit criteria along with many other criteria such as - all or key deliverables being at a certain level of completion and/or level of correctness by the end of the phase in which they are due.

And if so, I would check the place well since it looks like a pretty weird one.
