Question on estimating test cases for a batch test
I would like to know if there is any scientific method to estimate the number of test cases required for a batch test, in terms of the number of fields changed.
I understand that a common estimation is (FP)^1.2.
But in the case of a complex feed batch process, where a few fields are getting updated, is there a way to estimate the number of test cases required?
For example if there is a batch interface which has 20 fields, out of which 18 are changed, then
how do we arrive at the number of test cases to be written for this?

Thanks Jake and Lynne.
I will avoid duplicate posts in future.
Lynne, I will follow your suggestio and browse through the estimation and planning forum posts; But i wanted something specific to batch tests. Hence the post..
