Pre Release Effort v Post Release
Does anyone know if there are industry figures for how much time the average development team spend on Creating a piece of software compared to Supporting it after release (e.g. bug fixing / hotfixes / fixing known issues which were deemed not important enough to hold back release so went in hotfix).
Obviously support is an infinite time so lets assume that every 6months a new release happens so the support moves onto the new release at this stage.
