Test Unit (not Unit Test)
Has anybody had experience breaking testing (test cases execution) into test units as a metric for estimation?
~Thank you, Jim
Re: Test Unit (not Unit Test)
I did not use test units, but did try once to add a complexity index to my test that indicated whether they were easy, regular or hard test. This was supposed to indicate how hard it was to create a to run it.
For that specific project it was OK since it was short and very strict. When I tried to implement it on a separate project I ran into issues where each one of my testers would give different tests different values, and that's when we decided to drop this method.
Now I have some users in PractiTest that have a numeric field with how long should each test run, and based on this they make their execution and planning calculations.
Hope this helps.
