Hope i am writing this message in the right place.
I am new to QA ( 1 year ) and recently i got a new position in the company - to manage the QA.
This is a very small company but with some projects running simultaneously all the time - all tests ( hardware and software) are made manually, and there is almost no knowledge about methodology ( for example), no measures for projects ...
I really will appreciate any help regarding planing the work, measure it, any knowledge about the common terms that QA people are using in the "real world". - i really want to try and make this department more professional.
Thank you very much for any help
B.T.W - we develop security products like CCTV ( hardware & software)
I'm also afraid there are nothing specific to help you with "planning work", etc. Until you provide specific issue you face with (and the context) I'm afraid we are unable to help you. Real issues, not the one like "there are no methodology..." - Ad Hoc methodology may be the best in some situations, you should learn if/why you need it.

First let me thank you for ansering me
( more comments will be read happily)
I am exploring the forum and read a lot. - thank you.
I got this position 1 monthe ago, and i manage to write ATP for the New products and i am doing fine ( so far) on managing the time and tasks berween every body here.
Two things that are truble me the most:
1) surly there are better ways to do it.
2) we dont use any measure to check the progress and to plan ahead.
If you do have any suggestion about - how to mesure a project, its progress - this can be a good assitance.
Any way - again thank you and i hope i will be able to answer some questions my self.
I highly recommend going over to the Download tab and going into the Templates area. There is an Excel Template for Test Case Management and Reporting I put up there. Go Get It! This is the first step to measuring the project. With it you can track your test execution and produce some basic metrics to tell you where you are at. You can even modify it to fit your needs.
Thank you for the link,
I download it early in the morning.
Is there a way to send you an Email? - i have some questions specific to the files i downloaded, i am not sure it will be wise to fill the forum with that questions.
