Are there any good scheduling tools available? (Freeware will work for me :-))
I am trying to come up with all possible install test scenarios for a Client server product.
Servers supported: Novell (all possible versions of it :-(, Win2k, NT and (now) win2003
Workstations: win2k NT 98 XP
Software versions: atleast 5 ( v1 v2 3...)
Install senarious: New(current) Upgrades and migrates
Database on the server can be oracle or sqlbase
(to add to the confusion this product can also be intalled as a single user install so I can test it on all the above workstations as a single user install)
Now here is my problem there can be "N" number of configurations we can test on I was wondering if there is any tool that will help me generate these possibilities by just entering the above variables..
This sounds like a permutation combination thing to me... I think i flunked the subject in school !! Can any one suggest a good way to approach this problem??
Thanks in advance!
Re: Scheduling Tools?
Go to www.satisfice.com - download allpairs and read all accompanying information. It won't give you all the possibilities, it will generate test scenarios based on every pair of variables being tested at least once. It's meant to maximize test coverage while minimizing the number of tests. To learn more, you may want to search here or the internet for CATS (Constrained Array Test System) or Orthogonal Arrays.
