1. ## Cocomo models

Hi there. not sure if this is the right place for it but ive really got no where else to post.

im a computer science student doing some exams in august and ive never been so frustrated in my life at one teacher. his notes are jibberish, his methods are rubbish and when i emailed him for help out of term i was met with

"im sorry, you'll have to find out on your own".

For the record, my question was your cocomo model notes are very confusing, can you help me understand them with ane example?

Anyway, enough ranting. its a very simple question really.

so far, all we've been taught is very basic.

E = ab Kloc bb
D = cb E db

this is the formula ive been given and heres the question and answer i found.

E = 2.4(33.2)1.05

now when i do this calculation, i get 83.664.

i assumed this was the amount of person months involved in the project. but the answer marked on revision sheets is 95 person months.

I think i am missing a crucial step or doing something wrong.

can anyone help shed light on this?

p.s i apologize again if this is in the wrong thread or forum.

unfortunately no.

the first on is too advanced and brings in variables i dont recognize, wikipedia is better but it doesnt have any examples or explanations.

but thanks for trying

summary:

i just want to know how

this : E = 2.4(33.2)1.05

becomes 95. and not 83.664

Have you tried this? It explains the calculations and you can enter your LOC at the top and click Go to see the results.
