Are Software testing and evaluation the same?
I want to know what is the difference between software testing and software evaluation.
There are processes for each one. How can I get the total system of software testing and evaluation. And where are the software metrics to test specified?
Re: Are Software testing and evaluation the same?
Software testing is there to ensure the Customer has got the software they pay for.
This is done at several levels throughout the development of the software.
There are different types of testing for different stages of the development lifecycle.
Some of the basics are:
System \ Functional testing.
User Acceptance Testing.
Software evaluation is done on a product already in production or in an advanced level of development.
It's usually done to see if the software being looked at fits the Business needs.
This will determine if the Business will use the product, look at other alternatives to the product or develop thier own product.
