So many tools...which one is the Best ???
Hi !! Can somebody help me.......
currently my company is evaluating few automated tools and we need to expedite the decision on which test suites or particular test tool we need to buy. There are so many tools by so many vendors....which one the best??
We have approached several vendors and they have did a demo with us. Now...come to a time that we need to choose a most reliable and helpful tools. Below are the summary, please......help me to vote.....thanks in advance !!
White Box Test tool - Dev Partner by Compuware
- JTest by Parasoft
Functional Test - Quick Test Pro by Mercury
- WebKing by Parasoft
- QA Run by Compuware
Performance Test - Load Runner by Mercury
- Vantage by Compuware (havent demo to us)
- ??? by Parasoft (need to find out)
Defect traking tool - Test Director 8.0 by Mercury
- QA Run by Compuware
So, I believe there so many test experts here, please give me your recommendation in view of:
-functionality of the tools
-supporting (whether is difficult to get support -from the vendor or not)
We are trying to get the vendor to the POC (proof of concept) with us after we getting the evaluation copy instead of asking my team to evaluate the s/w.
Please....help me.....
Re: So many tools...which one is the Best ???
I too look forward to some of the responses. Presently I am engaged at a large corporation to ascertain something similiar.
Having performed a Test Process Improvement (TPI)Assessment (every organization should have one), the organization justified and legitimitized the need for Enterprise level tools. Test Management, Defect Management, QC Estimation, Automation (Unit, Functional, Performance, etc.)
I am building a project plan to evaluate tools based on Enterprise and sub-organization (4 of them) needs.
Q1: Functionality: What was the evaluation criteria established for the tools you reviewed? What are you comparing the tool capability to?
Q2: How will the tools you are selecting fit into and support the needs of the Program/Project Management processes?
Q3: Learning Curve: What is the composition (technical level) of the persons that will be utilizing the tools. There is a skills assessment form on www.techrepublic.com for your staff.
