I'm currently investigating which Defect-tracking system to choose for our company (approx. 25-30 users). There are a lot of defect-trackers out there, but still I managed to put a list together of potential defect tracking systems.
My list is currently:
4) PR-Tracker (not SoftWise)
6) BugCollector Pro
I've got 10 requirements for the new Defect Tracker and the most important are:
a) User-Friendly GUI
b) Must have a role-definition
c) Good reporting module
d) Must have a event-life cycle
e) Keep track of PR-history
My personal favorite from the above list is currently SWBTracker and I haven't yet found any better candidate.
Does anybody thinks he has or knows a better Defect Tracking system? If so, please respond to this message.
By the way: Maybe there are some language-errors in the above text, but that is because english is not my first language.
Our group is also looking into a commercial bug tracking product to replace current in-house developed tracking tool. So, do you have or have seen a defect tracking product pros and cons COMPARISON SHEET?
You might want to look at some freeware bug tracking systems. We use Bugzilla http://www.mozilla.org/projects/bugzilla/ from the mozilla.org project. It works well and easily customizable since it's perl cgi.
