Hello, im currently evaluating PVCS tracker 7.015 and so far im impressed with the customizability of the tool. But...
It seems that the fields i can add or use are limited in the sense that i cannot seem to use a field that can contain a number with decimal places. I want to add, to every issue the time needed to fix and test it. I then want an overview of the total time needed to fix and test all open issues etcetera. I used to work with excel, so please dont tell me i cannot do this in tracker (its really important for us).
First of all Iím not too sure about this but it may be worth looking in to.
At my last place of employment we used tracker (an earlier version than 7) and my QA manager at the time configured Tracker to calculate the importance of a defect (calculated by multiplying the severity by the frequency e.g. severity=9, frequency=7, importance=63).
My understanding is that this was achieved by using database triggers added at the database side and the field on the Tracker form was populated with the result. As I recall it did present a few problems but never the less is was achieved.
Again, this is only how I believe it was achieved.
