Tracker that ties in with CVS?
I did search for this in the forums but didn't find it already asked. Please forgive if this is redundant.
I am looking for a defect tracker that integrates with CVS. I know Bugzilla does, but the interface isn't friendly enough for our black box testers and as far as I can tell, it requires considerable customization. Of course, our developers like Bugzilla the best. If anyone has experiences to share with defect trackers and CVS integration, I'd love to hear about them.

I would expect that some tracking systems would integrate with CVS. The question is, what kind of functionality do you want?
When we first started, we launched a massive co-updating integration where job numbers and relational ties between CM and ExtraView were just the beginning. Then, we learned that more and more customers shared a common subset of needs with the extra integration being different in each case. Our experience is that most integrations require, at minimum, the following:
1. Command-line interface (users not forced to use the UI)
2. All commands scriptable from [Perl, Python, Batch, Shell Script, make, or your favorite script language.
3. One command simultaneously checks in changes AND updates case ID with diffs.
4. A fully scriptable API for the defect tracker that allows further customization at CLI or UI level
These minimums (seem to) have satisfied our customers' needs, while some have highly unique configuration beyond these basics.
Does this line up with what you need? Would you be willing to share with the forums what minimum and "Extra" integration you are looking for?
ExtraView is currently integrated with CVS, Perforce, and Microsoft Visual Source Safe. It is fairly straightforward to integrate it with other CM systems.
Does this answer your questions? If you have further interest, please visit the ExtraView web site. We would be happy to have you up and running on ExtraView today.
ExtraView is a highly adaptable Web-based tracking engine especially tuned for enterprise-level projects involving engineering, test, quality assurance, and service teams.</p>
