Visual Intercept opinions?
I'm researching a replacement for my defect tracking tool. An important requirement is full integration with VSS, so I'm looking closely at Visual Intercept.
Earlier postings have talked about problems with DB corruption. I'm looking for more recent feedback on whether these issues have been smoothed out by the vendor. Also looking for any thoughts on the tool's ease of use, metric reporting, integration with VSS, etc.
Thanks for any info!
Re: Visual Intercept opinions?
we are currently using VI, and are extremely unimpressed by it.
1)Reporting is useless, we tend to create our queries in excel and create the reports there.
2)If someone has changed an issue at the same time you were looking at it and 'you' don't save the change as well, it's lost.
3)saving an issue requires closing it, If you have more to add, you have to open it again.
4)If entering a new issue, it doesn't tell you what the new issue number is. You have to refresh the project or incident list.
5)If you are looking at a project, and the cursor is in the project name field, and you want to scroll through the description, you stand a good chance of having vhanged the project name on the incident.
Those are the issues off the top of my head.
On the good side, it does work with VSS very well.
Hope this helped.
