How difficult / easy is it toset up CVS for Unix & Windows
I want to have a common version control system for both unix and Windows code.
I have not used cvs but I want to know how easy is it to set it up for these platforms. What is the level of maintennace required for the same ? I am a developer and want a version control system whic hdoes not require a lot of maintenance.
any suggestions for another version control system which is easy to use and can be accessed from both unix and windows.
I have a remote team too and would like to have a version control system whic his accessible remotely too.

We use CVS at my company as well. It is easy to setup a CVS Server to hold all of your source code, and there are CVS Clients available for Windows/unix/Java. Some development tools actually integrate with CVS.
Update: We are a Windows/SGI/Linux/Solaris/AIX/Java shop.
