Regression Test Methodology
I had been testing for a few years, and then took a job in management for a few years, in an unrelated field and company. I am back in the testing world, and I have been asked to develop a Regression Test Methodology.
Here what I am currently working with:
We do not have a current regression testing process of any kind.
We own all the code that we support.
There are no controls on how often and when we release new code to our customers.
Bugs are fixed, tested and code is deployed when there are about 5 bugs minimum.
Enhancements are coded, tested and deployed along with the bug fixes.
Here is my question, is it possible to have a regression test methodology when there are no processes up front to control the deployment?
I am sure it is obvious what my thoughts are on this matter, I would like to here some of yours.
Re: Regression Test Methodology
I found a method that is very similar to a Cycle Count process that is used in a warehouse. I am going to use this one for now.
