Bugzilla "use" vs. install
I was thinking about bringing Bugzilla to my company which currently has no bug tracker. After doing a little research, I wanted to install and try it out. On one install page, I read the following line:
"If you just want to use Bugzilla, you do not need to install it. None of this chapter is relevant to you." I'm guessing that the just "use" part is referring to a web-based version?
I found this a little confusing as all Bugzilla users want to "use" Bugzilla. My question is, why would I want to install Bugzilla vs. just using the web-based version of it? I'm going to guess that the web-based version cannot be customized? And by installing, you can customize it any way you wish?
Thanks in advance,
Chris, unless someone is going to host Bugzilla for you, someone at your company needs to install it.
The instructions you read are just reminding you that, the instructions are for the installer, not the bug reporter. If you will be the one to install Bugzilla in your company - then the instructions are for you.

Thanks Joe. I misinterpreted the "If you just want to use Bugzilla, you do not need to install it." line. I want to "use" Bugzilla after someone else in my company has the thankless task of installing it. Because from what I've heard, it's a real bear!
It wasn't hard in my shop.
