Data Driven Windows based application ?
I'am working on a windows based application called WPC. It has a lot of dropdowns/ComboBox in it and recognises as a winobj.
1. Is there a way where i can specify to take the values of the comboBox from datatable?
2. Also, when i run the script bellow its not taking the correct values from the comboBox.
example: Window("Policy System").Window("Policy Common Information").WinObject("SqlWin:ComboBox_4").Click 281,14
Can you please advice!
Re: Data Driven Windows based application ?
Most probably, the control used in your application is not a standard combo box that is supported by TestComplete.
I guess your application is a .NET one. In this case, it should be recognized by TestComplete as Open. This means that TestComplete can access native methods and properties of objects in your application. You can use the methods and properties of the combo box object to select the desired value by its caption.
If you have problems with finding a way to use native methods and properties, please let me know the value of the control's ClrFullClassName property.
If your application is not a .NET application, please let me know in which programming language it is written and whether it is recognized as Open by TestComplete. If the application is recognized as Open, there is the TestComplete icon next to the application's process in the Object Browser panel.
As for getting values from a data table, please see the 'Data-Driven Testing' help topic for information on how this can be done with TestComplete.
