Here is some background. Not sure if it is helpful or not:
WE have 2 testers working on the same project. One tester has visual source safe and the other does not. Both have been working successfully until this morning. The tester who has VSS checked everything out and everything back in. Now we no longer can see all the tests in the treeview of the Project Workspace. Everything seems to be there from 2 days ago.
I can manually navigate to the project directory and see all the scripts from yesterday and this morning. They all exist. How can I get them to display so we can work with them?
Well, first of all, you need to make sure that your second tester has VSS so this doesn't happen again. The reason being is that there is a file called Script.tcScript that, for any given project, contains the information that indicates which script units are included in the project. When your tester checked into VSS, they probably checked in the Script.tcScript file that they were working off of, essentially "overwriting" the links to what the other guy was working on.
So, to fix it, on either machine, right-click on the script node in the project explorer and select "Add existing item". This will bring up a window where you can navigate to the location where the script files are and add them back to the project. You'll then need to save the project and recheck in all necessary files, including the now altered Script.tcScript file.
