I'd like to define all of my control names globally, instead of doing it in each script.
Will the recorder be aware of that, or I will need to replace all the p1, w1, w2, etc. manually? Ideally, I would call them something more descriptive...

I use this in my own framework, but rarely use the recorder, iteself, to actually record the script.
Basically, I have p1 named "Process" and I simply call that as a function to set the variable whenever I use it.
As far as having the recorder recognize it, I can't say that I've ever used it that way, no.
9 out of 10 people I prove wrong agree that I'm right. The other person is my wife.
Similar situation here. I ended up writing an application to rewrite recorded scipts in terms of my framework, which among other things renames many hard coded object names to framework variables.

Unfortunately, there's no way to modify variable naming convention in the current version of TestComplete. However, we have such a suggestion in our DB, and your requests have increased its rating. Thank you.
