I have put my Project Suite folder on the shared drive, defined the path under Tested App in Test Complete. It opens the project suite from shared but opens the project(underneath the suite) from local hard drive - I don't know Why it does that - any explaination
Is it the right way to share my scripts amongst all my testers or there is any other way to do it?
We are in middle of upgradingto TC 6.0 but will not do until I have all these pieces put together
Interesting. It sounds like, for some reason, the project suite is hard coded to point to your local hard drive.
Did you create the suite on the shared drive and then add your project from there or did you create the suite on your local and move it to the shared drive? Optimally, what you should be doing is moving all your project files (suite and project both) to the shared drive and running it from there.
What we do when we develop here is we create the suite and the projects locally on our local hard drives, upload to VSS, and then have an automated task nightly that gets the project code to a shared network drive for automated runs. This way the project and project suite are both relative pathed based upon the machine on which they are running. If you create the suite on the shared but add the project from your local, that uses an explicit pathing to the project rather than a relative pathing which is why it's always running from your local drive.
