Can i show me how to do load testing?
I'm newbie in TestComplete. And I try to do load testing. I read TestComplete Help but it's very difficult to understand clearly. Until now, I just create a test with HTTP Load Testing and record traffic. I see in my LoadTesting have Task and Script like that:
Set HTTPTask = LoadTesting.HTTPTaskByName("tgddTask")
Set VirtualUser = LoadTesting.CreateVirtualUser("VirtualUser1")
Set VirtualUser.Task = HTTPTask
And I don't know the follow steps what is? Anyone can help me please?
Thanks a lot
Re: Can i show me how to do load testing?
So, after recording, you get a Load Testing task (under the Tasks node of the Project Explorer) that contains all requests that were sent by the client application to the server side during recording. If you send the recorded requests to the server, it will reply to them and it will "think" that a real user is working with it.
To execute the recorded task (that is, send the recorded requests in the corresponding connections), you need a virtual user. You can create it in a script by using the LoadTesting.CreateVirtualUser method, assign the task to it and call its Run method to start the task's execution.
After recording you already have a script that creates a virtual user and runs it. So, you can just run the recorded test.
If you need several virtual users to run in parallel, you will need to create a test instance. To learn how to do this, please read the "Creating Load Tests in Scripts" help topic.
Another way to create Load Tests is to use the visual test editor. You can find a step-by-step description of how to do this in the "Creating Load Tests With the Test Editor" help topic.
I hope this helps.
