    TC

    Hi All,

We are using Test Complete in our Office for Automation. I'm very new to Automated Testing. Can anyone guide me how to start with.
I know very basic things about Test Complete like Record and playback, using more tghan one Script.
Also there are few pre recorded scripts, when i try to run them it says the object does not exist.

    Thanks & Regards
    Ria

Please check whether the tested application is running. Also, please check whether the object exists at the moment it is being addressed from script - put a break point on the problematic line and use the Object Browser to find out whether the object exists.

    Hi Kautilya and Alex,

Thanks for the information. I checked out the link. That is really good for beginners to know what Test Complete does.

    Alex,
The Problem is with the object names i think. Since the Scripts were generated a way long back and the object names conflict. is there anything else through which i can avoid this.

    Hi Sandiv,

Unfortunately, you will have to manually change the names in your scripts. For example, you can record the script once again. I recommend that you use Name Mapping in the future - it will allow you to change names easier if objects are changed in the tested application. Please see the "Name Mapping" help topic for more information on this feature.
    Best regards,
