Using WaitChild to find a process
I am using TC 5.11.432.7 to test a software installation. I am accessing the installation within an internal website. Each time the installation is run the process has a different name. So I setup code to use WaitChild to find the process:
name = "Process(""GLB*"")"
Set pInstall = WaitForProcess(name)
if pInstall.exists then
'additional code here
Set WaitForProcess = Sys.WaitChild(name, 10000)
The installation process always seems to start with "GLB" and then I add the wildcard character to cover the rest. For some reason pInstall does not exist and the process cannot be found. Can anyone help here? I got the basic idea for the code from the help file, so I am not sure what I am missing here.
I have also tried the following:
name = "GLB*"
But that also did not work.
Thanks for the help,
Re: Using WaitChild to find a process
OK, I got it covered. Using WaitProcess alleviates the issue. Thanks to AutomatedQA support.
