Request in the log file for TC5
Hi , I am using data driven testing for a text box in an application using excel spreadsheet. Now my question is say the script takes a value from the first cell in the excel sheet and enters it in teh text box and clicks ok. it brings some results in teh application for the entered value. is there any way in TC to capture how many records were returned for that input value .The reason why i ask this is my excel sheet has 10-15 values . Now how can i measure my test activity that the value returned correct number of records. If there was a way to capture the number of records returned i could verify in the database using a query.
say my values in teh excel spreadsheet were
so for the value Ford say the application returned 5 values i need to capture that information '5' somewhere in TC5.
Let me know.

Re: Request in the log file for TC5
I guess you have a grid control that displays query results, and you want to count the number of rows in the grid, right?
If so, you can use native properties of the grid control to accomplish your task (your application should be compiled as Open). You just need to explore the control in the Object Browser and find a property that contains the number of grid rows (like 'RowCount', etc).
If this does not help, please let me know which programming language and IDE were used to develop the application, and in which control the needed information is displayed (name, vendor, version).
