Objects are recognised by coordinates instead of objects\'s logical names
The application i am working on uses lot of third party controls like Infragistics etc
Whats the problem here is most of the objects in our application are recognised by XY coordinates instead of the object logical name
So If in future if the object position changes then we are in the soup
So is there any additional add-ins available to make the controls recognised by widget names not by the coordinates (As QTP is providing addins to make the objects recognised by logical names)
Re: Objects are recognised by coordinates instead of objects\'s logical names
There are no special plug-ins for third-party controls support. TestComplete should be able to work with all .NET applications as with Open application and therefore recognize separate objects along with their native methods and properties.
Please post a sample script recorded by TestComplete with your application and point to the line in which TestComplete uses the XY coordinates instead of working with a separate object.
BTW, please note that records relative coordinates. This means that when the tool records clicks on a control, the coordinates are recorded relative to the control's left top corner. For example, if the control has size 25x75 pixels and a click is recorded as Click(13, 38), TestComplete will click the center point of the control. If you remove the coordinates from the Click() method, TestComplete will always click the center point of the control.
