Test Log error from a test suite
I have a test suite of tests each with a start up and shuthown function in the initial and final routines. This morning I booted up my PC and tried to run the suite - Note the application is the same as the one used to create the suite. The application is multi tier client, web server and database, I am still testing the installation with all components on the same XP PC as would be the case for a single user installation. When I created the tests and checked they worked there were no problems. This morning the application unter test seemed to take a while to start up - this is probably due to JIT compilation. As a result of the time it took to start up the main window did not appear in time and thus caused a knock on effect. This proved to me that I need to increase one of the delays I have built in to the script.
I already have to have a delay before the following lines
app = TestedApps["Items"](0);
// Launches the application
p = app["Run"]();
this is because when the second test is run after the app has closed from the first test if no delay exists the application under test fails to launch.
Having explained the background of the test suite I now come to the strange test log output from this mornings test and my reason for posting.
The root of the test suite in the log is marked as OK in the log, viewing the branches of the tests underneath the log the main branch of the suite is marked as a failure, the initial routine of the first test is marked as OK as is the final routine of that first test. The main routine of the first test is marked as a failure which I expected from what I observed during the test run. Test Complete also failed to run any more than the first test and the initial and main routine from the second test, TestComplete then shutdown giving no errors. This is the first time that I have seen a test fail and the root be marked as OK.
I am using/ evaluating Test Complete version 3.012 which our company has purchased.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">Did you install any software before this ? Does the same problem happens on any other computer? If it doesn't please try reinstalling TestComplete. If this doesn't help we would appreciate it if you can sent your TestComplete project to firstname.lastname@example.org.
