I'm trying to view the properties of a GridEXDropDown object using TestComplete 4.
The object is a list containing ID numbers and names of banks.
I want to view the properties so that I can get a better handle on the list items inside and therefore select items from the list using their numeric or text indexes rather than a pixel co-ord mouse click inside the object which is what TestComplete is currently recording.
The object appears to be generated dynamically when I click on the down arrow next to the combo box and even if I put a break point in my code and try to evaluate and then inspect the object, the object ceases to exist as soon as the focus is switched away from the app under test.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the properties to display?
You can try using the Finder tool feature of TestComplete (See the 'Object Properties Window' topic to learn how you can use the Finder Tool). Please open the Object Properties window, uncheck the 'Capture mouse' property in the Options dialog (Select the 'Panel Options' context menu item). After that please invoke your GridEXDropDown control and move mouse over it. Press Ctrl+A to fix the information. The Object Properties dialog now shows the properties of the needed control.
