I am evaluating TestComplete 4 against WinRunner(which I have used before). One thing I am finding very annoying with Test Complete is that when the script fails(for example with an object expected message) due to an error I have made in the script it asks me if I would like to stop the script.
Whatever I select on this message does not stop the script so I have to wait for the whole script to finish before I can then edit the script to fix my error, is there any work around for this?
>>> Whatever I select on this message does not stop the script
This is not normal. Can you please post here the script you are running and point to the line that causes the error dialog to appear.
Also, please post the exact error message you see (you can copy it to the Clipboard by pressing Ctrl+C in the error dialog).
>>> must be something about my PC setup as neither command stops the script.
Please make sure the Shift+F2 shortcut is specified in the "Tools | Options | General | Global Shortcuts" dialog as a shortcut for the Stop action.
If it is, please reboot the PC and try using the Shift+F2 shortcut again.
Do you have any software that uses hooks on your machine? If you do, try disabling it - there may be a conflict between this software and TestComplete.
