I have a question regarding TestComplete4 running on a Win2K vs. Win2003 system. I am able to open a command prompt on a Win2K system and see it in the Object Browser and then record keystrokes to run a test. On the Win2003 system I am trying to do the same thing but find that the Command Prompt does not appear in the Object Browser after it is open (even manually) and the script goes off into the weeds. I get errors like
“Process not found”, “Name = Index = -1”, you are trying to call the “Keys” method or property of the command prompt that does not exist”
I am using the ver 4 demo software until my order gets approved and shipped. All the parameters of the tool on the two systems seem to be the same. I can only guess that Win2003 handles the command prompt differently than Win2K. Any ideas?
This is a known issue. We will fix it in one of the future updates of the tool. In the meantime, please let me know what actions you perform using the Command Prompt, maybe I could suggest a workaround to you.
