moving project from one computer to the other
I have finished a TC propject in one of my virtual PC Windows 2000 server, and I am trying to move it to the other VirtualPC windows 2003 server on the same computer. This project contain HTTPTasks, which requires ProjectEvent objects.
The project itself works fine on the Window 2000 Server, but after I moved it to the other VPC the ProjectEvent object somehow did not follow. So I can not perform the HTTPTask because the connections between the functions:
Sub ProjectEvents1_OnLoadTestingRequest(Sender, User, Request)
Sub ProjectEvents1_OnLoadTestingResponse(Sender, User, Request)
and their events:
have been lost.
All I did was copy the whole Project folder under the:
C:\Program Files\Automated QA\TestComplete 3
from the 2K machine into the 2003 machine. Is there any steps that I missed? Or is it suppose to be like that and I just have to start a new project from scratch and get new ProjectEvents? If that is the case is there any go arounds? Because the test I build is rather large so it will be a pain to manually copy in all the functions.
I am using the latest version of TC on both 2K and 2003.
Re: moving project from one computer to the other
When you move a project from one computer to another, the Project Events control needs to be registered on this new computer. This is done automatically by TestComplete/TestExecute when you open the project.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">Please take a look at the properties of the ProjectEvents control in your project. Specifically, look at the Events tab of the Component Inspector panel. Are the events linked to the correct script routines?
the connections between the functions: ... and their events: ... have been lost.
