I need to use pointers
I have been using TestComplete about 2 months and want to use pointers!!
I search on help but found nothing except to that
"TestComplete only recognizes routines that use:
- ... Pointers (except untyped pointers).
- Routines are not accessible if their parameters include or they return:
Non-object types that are not OLE-compatible (e.g. Int64, Extended or ShortString) or
Arrays (except strings), pointers to pointers, untyped pointers, pointers to functions, unions (variant records in Pascal) and bit fields".
I need to use a pointer to string.. or to file!!
Re: I need to use pointers
Hi dear all;
I sent an e-mail to AutomatedQA about this topic and they sent me this reply which saying:
Using pointers in TestComplete scripts is not possible - it can lead to an
error. Only OLE-compatible types can be used in scripts.
This restriction is described in the Parameters Passed By Reference help topic.
In your case, one of the possible solutions would be to create a custom plug-in
for TestComplete and implement the desired functionality in this plug-in.
Please read the following Help topic to learn more on TestComplete custom
plug-ins: Creating Custom Plug-ins
Sample plug-ins are shipped with the product and located in the <TestComplete
