i am currently software tester in my company. Our company develops web applications on the platform dot Net. i am in stack and wondering can someone help me. namely: web application includes one DHTML component called showModalDialog, which calls out Web Page Dialog. The test-tools i have so far discovered, which provides that Web Page Dialog, are mercury quicktest pro and rational robotj, functional tester etc.
I am currently using TestComplete, because it has elements for performance testing and other grate options(HTTP Load Testing, Network Suite), but TestComplete doesn't support Web Page Dialog. I was trying to make wrapper for TestComplete just to find out which WINUSERAPI functions it is calling out in WebClient.pls when Web Page Dialog occurres. Seems that IEFrame (for usual HTML page) is hardcoded in the WebClient plug-in, but to the Web Page Dialog has omitted Internet Explorer_TriedentDlgFrame. The idea was just to make function which renames Internet Explorer_TriedentDlgFrame to the IEFrame, but it didn't help. Now mu question: is there any other option to hack TestComplete so that object-browser shows me the Web Page Dialog DOM model? or is there any other tool for testing Web Page Dialog (except Rational and Mercury soft)?
Unfortunately, the current implementation of Web Testing plug-in does not allow working with dialogs created by the showModelDialog method since they are not registered in the system active browsers list. So, you can do nothing with the WebTesting.pls file in order to make TestComplete work with such windows.
