Test Execut does not run on new computers.

    Hi Everybody.
I have a problem. Test Execute installed on few new (DELL) computers does not recognize the application. However, it works OK on other computers. Is any specific settings, that prevent Test Execute to recognize the application?
    Thanks,
    Len

    Hi Len,

how do you address the application?
    Do you use special plug-in's?

I think the problem lies in your setup.

Re: Test Execut does not run on new computers.

    Hi Jan.

how do you address the application?
    I open my application first, and then from DOS run TestExecute.exe "C:\Program Files\Automated QA\ TestComplete\Projects\My\My.mds" /RunAndExit
    /PMain /UMainCall

    Do you use special plug-in's?
I installed all Extensions on Test Complete 3 before I created the scripts.
Should I do any specific settings on TestExecute?

    Thanks,
    Len

Re: Test Execut does not run on new computers.

    Hello Len,

Please make sure that the .NET Client plug-in is installed in TestExecute. You can check this in the TestExecute.ini file: Find the '[Tools.Plug-ins.Extensions]' section and see whether the 'Y' character is set in the end of the following line:
    CheckItem7=Extensions\NETClient.pls;Y

If this does not solve the issue, please try using the WaitProcess method with the third parameter set to True instead of the Process one in order to make the tool work with the application as with an Open application. Please see the 'Sys.WaitProcess' help topic for more details.
    For example:
    </font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;"> Set p = Sys.WaitProcess(&quot;MyApp&quot;, 5000, True)</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">
