I am currently assisting a company with a proof-of-concept for TestComplete.
Their dev / test team is not willing to go the open application route for various reasons.
The decision to leave applications "closed" has not been an issue on their
C++ systems, but their Delphi system is posing a problem due to a custom
list and combo box control. The control is supports listbox / listview / treeview functionality and is used as part of their custom combo box control which, when clicked, paints the list control below the combo box control. I cannot extract the text contained in the text box portion of the combo control, nor can I extract the items in the list.
I have spoken to the developer who created the controls and he asked that I find out what messages they must respond to / initiate in order to expose the content of their controls to TestComplete.
Can anyone here tell me what I need to tell the developer?
If the drop-down list of the combo box responds to these messages properly and its window class is listed in the Object Mapping option, then TestComplete will be able to get access the list view's items.
