How to capture Session Id before \'?\' symbol in the URL
I have come across a problem. I record a script for my test case. Each time a new session is created. When I re run the script the session id which got hard coded in the script causes my script to fail. Coz every time I re run it i get a new session id that is dynamically generated. I read about handling the html header after the '?' symbol and substituting them with variables. Ironically my session id is just before the '?' symbol.
Re: How to capture Session Id before \'?\' symbol in the URL
You can use wild cards ('*' and '?') in your scripts to avoid possible problems. For example:
Set page = w.Page("http://www.automatedqa.com/*")
If you need to get the id from the URL, you can obtain the address using the LocationURL property of the Page object and then parse it.
If my advice does not help you or you have additional questions, please post here the script that does not works for you. You can replace the constant part of your URL with some fake string if you cannot show it for the security reasons.
