Command Line Testing Without GUI
Does anybody ever use TestComplete to test the engine? For example, I have an engine that run under cmd.exe concole with command line. There is no GUI. Is there any way TestComplete can take care this problem? Thanks in advance!
Re: Command Line Testing Without GUI
TestComplete does not have any special means for testing console applications. The only way to test these kinds of applications is to copy the application output to the clipboard and then analyze it. You can select the contents of the CMD window using the 'Select All' command of its system menu (press Alt+Space to open this menu). To copy the selected text to the clipboard, press Enter. Below is a script that demonstrates the described approach.

var p, w
p = Sys.Process("cmd"
w = p.Window("ConsoleWindowClass", "*"
Log.Message("Console window's contents", Sys.Clipboard)
}</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">
