As TestComplete's Web testing plug-in provides extended support for Internet Explorer, and HTA applications are displayed in IE, TestComplete should be able to work with this kind of application. One of our users sent us a simple HTA application with labels, combo boxes and edit fields - all controls were recognized by our tool properly. Could you please send us your application or a sample application that will demonstrate the problem?
>Another observation i've made is that when i run the application within a browser, some methods are no longer available upon a .NET object.
If an application is loaded into Internet Explorer, TestComplete uses the Web testing plug-in to recognize its objects and doesn't use the abilities of the Testing of .NET applications plug-in. So I suppose that your application is not treated as a .NET Open application and that is why you do not see the methods of your .NET object. But to tell for sure I need to know more details about your application's structure. If you can send me it, that would help me understand the problem better. Thank you in advance.
Could you please send me the new NETClient.pls (refering to the latest post on the TestComplete news group. news://forums.automatedqa.com/automa...c.testcomplete
<news://forums.automatedqa.com/automatedqa.public.testcomplete> "Re: ..NET open apps - need to reboot to see them sometimes")
This plug-in was included in the latest update, TestComplete 3.06. I believe that you are using this version. Moreover, I think that the problem described in this newsgroup message is not related to yours: it concerned pure .NET applications whose main forms did not appear within 5 seconds after starting.
