I have a network suite scheduled to run each day on my machine at 4 am. However, because of my network's security settings, my machine is automatically locked after it's been idle for x mins. It seems that when the machine is locked, TestComplete won't run -- it tries to launch and then crashes. Has anyone else run into this problem, or know a way around it?
If the computer is locked, TestComplete will not be able to execute any mouse actions and we are not aware of any workaround for this situation, sorry. Anyways, it should not crash. Please zip the contents of the <TestComplete 3>\Logs\ folder and send the archive to our support team at email@example.com.
Besides what was mentioned by Bobby, I would like to add that if TestComplete tries to start tested application when computer is locked, it is possible that application will not be able to start. And this may crash your test as well.
I found the NetOp tool (www.netop.com) an extremely useful one for the similar situation. Like Remote desktop it allows you to to remotely control another computer (but has a lot of advantages over the Remote Desktop). So you can have a remote computer without monitor/keyboard/mouse in order not to compromize the security, while be able to run your tests on it.
