I've just started working with TestComplete, so - I apologize in advance for my question.
Our team deals with WebApplication so I wonder how can I start browser and go to URL without clicking to Shell_TrayWnd? I'd like avoiding desktop-related methods in my script...
E.g. in Rational Robot I used the following: StartBrowser "URL", "WindowTag=MyTag"
Thanks in advance
Re: Looking for a command to start browser /go to URL
To start browser in TestComplete you can either add it to the Tested Applications dialog and launch it with TestedApps.RunAll command, or use something like (VBScript notation) Win32API.WinExec("""" & BuiltIn.GetCOMServerPath("InternetExplorer.Applica tion") & """", SW_NORMAL).
After browser has been started you can navigate to the URL using the following code:
Set pIE = Sys.WaitProcess("iexplore", 5000, True)
Set w = pIE.WaitWindow("IEFrame", "*", , 10000)
Set oPage = w.Page("*").ToURL("http://localhost/WebService1/WebService1.asmx")
If (Not oPage.Exists) Then
Log.Error "WebService start page was not opened"
