Can you export requirements out of Confluence into TestComplete?

    Hi,

Quick question. Can you export requirements out of Confluence into TestComplete?

I'm not familiar with Confluence or Jira to be honest, as I've been asked whether we can get the requirements out of these tools into TestComplete. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

Not really, at least not in any meaningful way. Confluence is a CMS that has unstructured data, where confluence likes things in fields.

There are way to exports and write custom scripts to import it. But that would require a standard document structure to begin with.

Wouldn't that also depend on whether the requirement were linked as attachments or added as word documents in Confluence? I may way out of my depth with this as I've only used Conflunece primarily as an information store.

For the most part, confluence is just a CMS. All it stores is text, markup, attachment, and additionally labels.

Both systems have API, so you can programattically extract data and load data

Since confluence does not have distict fields for say separating setup and test steps. For the most part the best you can do is create a bunch of entries with matching titles and dump the text into the test steps. Then someone would have to come back and format each test case correctly.
