Honestly, i hunted the forums and manuals and I know it can be done. I saw it...at least I thought I did.
So here's the scoop.
I start a test run.
In the upper right corner there appears a Playback status message.
I'd like to use it to tell the user what is going on.
There is about 30 seconds of 'quiet time' while TC runs checks on the page's objects.
But to the user it looks like nothing is happening.
I don't want to stop execution but would like the user to
get a status message.
Define Passed/Warning/Failed. How is TestComplete supposed to know what you consider Passed or Failed? Is it if there is any error that it's failed? Or are some errors expected? Warnings don't always mean there's a problem with the application, just an unexpected result and so they need to be evaluated.
So, it comes down to you, the test developer, defining what those conditions are and then using the Indicator object to make that display.
