Fun with UserForms: \"File open\" dialog won\'t show
So, I'm trying to get a UserForm I've made going. So far, it's going quite well. Make yourself a modeless dialog, and run it with TestExecute, and wallah: an app for that.
Ran into a few snags taking it further though. The "TOPenDialog" button won't show. Is there some special init routine I have to run? No matter what I try for the options, it never shows on the dialog. It's not a z-order problem since I even tried it between panels.
Tried looking through the help, but there's nothing I could find on the web. It's just the help files referenced again. I'm on version 7.52.
The only other problem I've had was getting a drop-down menu to stick to the value I click it to.
Re: Fun with UserForms: \"File open\" dialog won\'t show
I am also having all sorts of problems with user forms
in the end to get them to respond to an event... actually no, cvancel that i just realised i cant get them to respond to an event - they did - then they stopped - and i have no idea why - waiting on replies from smartbear to several questions
the only advice i have gotten so far is that I have to show form between events to get it to update the form contents
however as the form has to be showing for the event to happen
and neither show, nor showmodal will work when the form is showing i dont understand how I am supposed to do that
I finally split my form up and had the first part by copying their sample form - removing everything but the dialogue that i wanted to use - that works ok
but then the second form, it displays the form, updates drop down /combo boxes and then disappears, whether i start it by shwo or show modal, and i cant for the life of me figure out why it does that or how to stop it - specially as the form has no properties of its own except width and height....
