Checkpoints for menu items
I have an application in which it has menu items. Now the problem is the developers keep adding new items without documenting it, which makes life of testers hard.
So want to create a automated test, which checks and compare the menu items and let me know if any new item has been put in.
And also cant think of creating checkpoints.
I m using testcomplete 8.
Re: Checkpoints for menu items
You need to use properties and methods of your menu to iterate through its items and compare their captions with expected values. To keep baseline data, you can use, for example, and array, or a table variable. See the "Working With Menus" and "Checking Menu Item's State" help topics.
