We are doing webservices testing and are supposed to automate it using Test Complete.
Here is what the webservice does: When it runs it reads the data from a source DB and converts that into a XML file and inserts that into a destination DB.
Using Test complete we need to actually do the following:
1. Query the Source DB, store the values in a XML or in any file format
2. Query the destination DB
3. Validate the XML created by the webservice
4. Read the data from the XML received from the Destination DB and save the file in any file format
5. Compare both files and validate the data
What have you tried to date? Have you tried any of the tutorials and samples?
There's any number of ways to perform any number of different things with WebServices, SQL DB queries, XML comparisons/checkpoints, etc. I'd recommend looking up in the help topics on ADO objects you can create, testing WebServices via TestComplete, usieng XML checkpoints, etc.
