FireFox 7 and TC 8 support

With release of Firefox 7, the access to web page controls via TC8 is lost. Any steps taken by AQA to solve this?

Re: TC7, Mozilla and ASP.NET Web controls.

(moving this to a new topic)

SmartBear folks, just like with any software development product, need to have the time to update the product for use with new versions of browsers and such. FF 7 was JUST released so I'd expect that it will take a bit of time for them to sort out the differences. Any possibility that you can roll your FF installation back to 6?

Re: TC7, Mozilla and ASP.NET Web controls.

Firefox must have forgotten how to use the minor revision number - they seem to have annoyed many automated testing folks with their new policy of about 2 major revisions per month....

Its' frustrating but there isn't much you can do. As Robert said, roll back to FF6 and only do automation on FF7 once support is in place.

There's a topic rolling over on the regular TC support forums about Chrome and Opera being automatable using MSAA... I wonder if applying MSAA to FireFox will mitigate this whole rapid-release FF stuff...

    Hi all,

For those who might get to this thread via search:
The corresponding plug-in is under development. We will try to implement support for Firefox 7 in the next TestComplete update.

    Hi pebranch,

The next update in which the feature is going to be included is planned for mid-December, however, it's possible that we'll find a way to enable that support for TestComplete 8.60 before the release.

That's a good idea and something I haven't tried with Firefox.

However, I have tried adding the wndclass of Opera and Chrome through MSAA and couldn't get it to work correctly.

Hopefully full browser support will be available for these languages soon enough. I can only imagine how difficult that is to handle from an automation tool like this.

    @Allen_AQA

Is this mid-December upgrade going to be a minor or major version release?

    Hi Knaledge,
It's going to be a new minor version release.

    Hi Learning2QTP,
We have corresponding suggestions in our DB and your request has increased their ratings. Thanks.
    Regards,
