Clicking on Java panels causing strange behavior

Hey all,

I have hopefully-quick problem that I hope you can help me with.

Im trying to access Java panels - which seems to work fine. The object can be shown by multiple different ways (.Show(), setVisible(true), and probably 3-4 more). This is fine, the panel does indeed show

However, the problem Im having is - Im actually only bringing the panel to the top via code and it isn't a true black box test. That is to say, the panel is shown, however - the panel title is not selected.

I can't object spy the top panel menus but I can see them through the object spy. There's no click method available.

So - just to summarize my issue, when I use my object spy I can see the main panel... if I click on "fields" I can see the individual panels I want to access. Clicking on that <object...> gives me a list of methods, from these methods I can use .Show to bring the panel to the front but the tab itself isn't highlighted. I would REALLY like to be able to use a method to properly "click" this object - or at the very least, make it so that the tab's title is also selected and highlighted - not just the panel being shown.

Suggestions? Is this possible with this type of control?
Any feedback would be great.

Re: Clicking on Java panels causing strange behavior

So I found this function on the Smartbear forums website, and thankfully I can now output the components

But - it still won't let me click these objects. How can I do that?

Script:
function Test1()
{
crpane = Sys.Process("my app");
for (var i = 0; i < crpane.getComponentCount(); i++)
{
Log.Message(crpane.getComponent(i).getName());
crpane.Click(i); //This doesn't work
}
}

Suggestions?

Alright - I figured it out.

You need to add the custom control to your object mapping
Once you do that, you can get access to a new method called ClickTab()

Then just specify the object you need through that method. Easy peasy

Thanks anyways guys - wanted to post the solution as Im sure other people have similar problems as well.
Cheers!
