It sounds like you're recording is trying to click on a component or window that has been overlapped by another window. Is there another pop-up that is coming up that wasn't there during your recording? Are you doing stuff with your machine while the test is running that is creating additional windows?
actually, there is a look-up window which i open & select my data while recording. so while playback
1)it opens the look-up window
2)highlight the record & close the look-up.
3)but selected data is nor copied to the main window.
Could you post your recorded script here? That may be useful in diagnosing what's going on.
Essentially, what an overlapping window error means is that there is an attempt to click on one window that is obscured or overlapped by another. It is odd that your look-up window is being viewed as an overlapping window if it was utilized during the recording.
My suspicion is that this is a timing issue where your recorded test is attempting to do something either before the window fully resolves or after the window close method is called. This usually happens with recorded tests because the playback always runs faster than the original record and the intuitive "wait time" that the human recording the test is not accounted for in the playback.
If you can post your script here, that might reveal whether or not this is the case.
