TC8 trial, problem with LookupList, delphi app
Hi, I have to check if this tool is fit for our testing needs. I have a problem with selecting/identifying items from the dropdown list (TIB_LookupList) of our delphi app. I recorded the test and now I want to change the test so that there are no coordinates given for the selected items but I don't manage to get a good result. Please write me a few solutions others than using Keys simple or with variables/tables. Thanks!
Re: TC8 trial, problem with LookupList, delphi app
We do not have experience of working with this control. If the control is compatible with a standard Win32 combo box control, you can just map it to the standard control using the Object Mapping feature. Find more information in the Object Mapping help topic. In short, you need to open the project properties editor (Tools | Current Project Properties) and add the window class of your control (TIB_LookupList) to the 'Object Mapping | Win32 Controls and Windows | Combo box' list.
If the control is incompatible with the standard control, you should be able to work with it using its native methods and properties as TestComplete 8 always recognizes Delphi applications as Open. If you do not know what properties and methods can be used to solve your task, ask the application developer to help you with this. If you cannot access all methods and properties of the object from TestComplete, most probably, the application is compiled without debug information. Recompile the application with debug information, and TestComplete will be able to access all methods and properties of the application objects. Please find more information in the Using Debug Info Agent With Delphi Applications help topic.
