Update: I figured it out.

I have looked through the "Help Files", and do not see anything about this. I only see how to connect to SQL Server through ADO, etc...

I am running SQL Server 2008 R2 restore/backup through ADO connection in TC8.
I can connect to my instance of SQL Server, I can run restore queries and validate that they are successful through data in tables.
I can run a backup query as well. I see the .BAK file in the specified location, but I need some results in TC8. TC8 returns an exception that states "CommandText does not return a result set". SQL server doesn't return results from a backup query, so how in the world am I to validate that the backup is successful???

Here's the code:

Set Qry = ADO.CreateADOQuery
' Specify the connection string
Qry.ConnectionString =("Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security Info=False;Initial Catalog="&aDatabase&";Data Source="&aDataSource&"")
' Specify the SQL expression
Qry.SQL = ("Use master BACKUP DATABASE [database] To DISK = N'C:\..."&file&".bak'")
' Execute the query

Any help would be greatly appreciated. [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
