Working with Delphi TbsSkinDBLookupComboBox object
I am trying to use TC8 Standard on an application developed using Delphi 2006 which contains several objects of class TbsSkinDBLookupComboBox. TC8 does not recognize them natively as combo boxes. Not even after object-mapping them as Win32 combo boxes. Object browser recognizes some property attributes but nothing which I can work with meaningfully, such as .wText to show the current contents of the box.
If I try to record actions on the objects--for instance, to select different items in the combo list, I just get mouse clicks at screen locations.
If I go in with Object Browser to look at it and try to select an Index parameter for .wItem I always get the error message 'The control item <whatever number> not found. Total number of items: 0.'
Has anyone else worked with these kinds of objects?
Thanks for your time,
Re: Working with Delphi TbsSkinDBLookupComboBox object
Just to save a little time with anyone else who might ever work with this environment, the answer was to build a symbol-filled version of the application executable in addition to the production version. Then use StripTDS.exe from TestComplete's bin directory against the symbol-filled version on the local machine.
After doing that a lot more object information became available in Object Browser's Advanced tab. Not the items I mentioned in my original post, but enough that I could at least interrogate and manipulate them meaningfully.
